About Us

How it started:

Founded by Mark, a certified swimming pool and spa service technician since 2015, Midion was born out of a desire to transform the pool industry. In February 2022 after the heavy rain fall and flash flooding in South-East Queensland and Northern NSW, swimming pool owners were affected by the national salt shortage and pool owners with chlorinators had to resort back to manually treating their pools with liquid or granular chlorine. Once the rain subsided, pool owners were faced with having to add between 6-10 bags of salt into their pools to get the chlorinators back up to a producing level, not to mention all of the other chemicals needed. Mark wanted to find a solution that would help pool owners save on chemical and energy costs, especially now with the rising cost of living. So he set out on a mission to find a more efficient, cost-effective and healthier way to keep pool water pristine. After a year of research and testing with proven results, we are proud to offer our solar powered floating swimming pool ioniser to pool owners around the world.

Our experience:

With over 10 years working in water treatment specifically with cooling towers, water sampling and now 8 ongoing years within the pool and spa industry, Mark has tried and tested hundreds of chlorinators, ozonators, UV and ionisers on the market and has seen what works and what doesn't. What saves money but is expensive and what adds money to running your pool but is cheap, unreliable and requires constant attention.

Having worked at a pool shop and seeing first hand how much money pool owners would spend on chemicals, he wanted to find a way to provide them with a sustainable and cost-effective alternative that not only saves money in the long run but also contributes to a greener and healthier environment.

Our online store showcases both our IoniZer 1.0 and IoniZer 2.0. Products that we have tried and tested in all 4 seasons in Queensland, Australia, in the extreme heat and single digit cold water temperatures, in every style pool with any equipment set up. 

Our 1.0 harnesses the power of sunlight and natural minerals and releases trace amounts of minerals into your pool water, effectively sanitising it by disrupting the growth of algae and bacteria. The 2.0 is an integrated system which is plumbed into your existing pipework and is powered by your current system. This unit is perfect for both indoor and outdoor pools, spa systems, ponds and natural swimming pools.

Both our ionisers are guaranteed to save you money by cutting down your swimming pools usage for certain chemicals and can provide the option to run your pump and filter on only 4 hours per day and the chlorinator cell or chlorine feeder on it’s lowest setting reducing your pool energy consumption and the wear and tear of your pool equipment.
